The official GOV.UK change of address guidance is the safest starting point for government records.
- Council Tax at both addresses and the electoral register.
- DVLA driving licence and vehicle log book. These are separate updates.
- HMRC for tax records and benefits where relevant.
- Department for Work and Pensions for benefits or State Pension.
- TV Licensing and any relevant immigration or legal records.
Home and utilities
- Gas, electricity and water suppliers, with meter readings and photographs from both homes.
- Broadband, landline and television services.
- Home, contents, car, pet and life insurers.
- Security, alarm, cleaning, gardening and regular delivery services.
- Royal Mail redirection, arranged before the move where possible.
Money, work and healthcare
- Banks, credit cards, investments, pensions, loans and premium bonds.
- Employer, accountant and professional memberships.
- GP, dentist, optician, hospital departments and pharmacy.
- Schools, nurseries, clubs and childcare providers.
- Vet, pet microchip database and pet insurance provider.
Shopping, travel and everyday life
- Online shops, grocery deliveries and loyalty schemes.
- Mobile phone, breakdown cover and parking permits.
- Gyms, clubs, charities and subscriptions.
- Family, friends and anyone who regularly sends post or visits.
