- Use smaller boxes for heavy items. Use your best judgement when lifting and use proper lifting techniques to prevent injury . The weight should not exceed 40 pounds.
- Use medium size boxes for bulkier items such as pots and pans. The weight should not exceed 50 pounds.
- Use large size boxes for pillows, cushions, lamps, toys, and shoes. The weight should not exceed 60 pounds.
- Prepare your packing with the appropriate boxes. Wardrobe boxes are great for hanging clothes. Electronic boxes, dish packs, book boxes, china boxes, and linen boxes are also available. Utilize suitcases to pack clothes. Use sturdy and reinforced cartons. Be sure to mark breakables as Fragile.
